Website costs
How much does a website cost? Honestly explained.
A serious answer is only possible once it's clear what your website needs to do. Here you'll learn what drives the price, which costs come after launch and how to get a binding fixed price within 48 hours.

No price list
Why you won't find package prices here.
A website for a trades business with five service pages has little in common with an online shop or a member portal. Fixed-price packages put both in the same box — and in the end you pay for things you don't need, or you miss exactly what brings in enquiries.
That's why I do it differently: in a free initial call we clarify what your website needs to achieve. Within 48 hours you get a fixed-price quote that lists every service. The price is set before I start — and you only pay once your website is live.
What you can rely on
- Fixed price instead of hourly billing
- Quote within 48 hours of the initial call
- All services and running costs in black and white
- Payment only after go-live
- The website and its source code belong to you
Price factors
What determines what your website costs.
Eight points make the difference between a lean site and a large project. Think them through briefly beforehand and the initial call becomes especially productive.
Scope & number of pages
A one-pager is built faster than a site with ten service pages, team, references and blog. Every page needs structure, copy and design.
Design
I design every website individually for your business. How much effort that takes depends on imagery, animations and special layouts.
Copy & images
Do you provide copy and photos yourself or do you need support? Good content is often the biggest lever for enquiries — and a noticeable cost item.
Features
Online booking, registration forms, multiple languages or a login area: every feature needs planning, implementation and testing.
Shop & integrations
A shop or a connection to Shopify, your CRM or calendar costs more than a pure information site — but often saves you a lot of manual work afterwards.
SEO & visibility
A clean SEO foundation is always included. Location pages, keyword research or ongoing SEO support are added depending on your goals.
New build or relaunch
If you already have a website, I take over the content and set up redirects so your existing Google rankings are preserved.
Support after launch
Hosting, maintenance, updates and small changes can be handled by me — or you take care of them yourself. Both work.
Typical projects
Three sizes, no price tag.
To help you place your project: these are the projects I build most often.
Landing page
One page for an offer, a campaign or getting started — with one clear goal: enquiries. Including legal notice and privacy policy.
Usually live within two weeks
Business website
Home page, service pages, about, references and contact — the site that helps customers find you and get in touch. You edit the content yourself.
Typically two to four weeks
Shop, portal or app
Shopify shop, member or customer portal, your own app: here the effort depends heavily on the features. I deliver larger projects in stages.
Delivered in stages
Always included

- Contact form, phone and WhatsApp button
- Visitor statistics set up
- Preview link during development
- A personal contact — by phone, video or on site
After launch
These costs keep running.
Every website has running costs — the only question is how much and what for. My quote lists them from the start, so there are no surprises after go-live.
Domain & hosting
Your address on the web and a server in Europe with an encrypted connection. From one source if you like — or with a provider of your choice.
Maintenance & updates
Security, technical updates and small changes via an optional maintenance contract. Modern websites need far less upkeep here than plugin-based systems.
Email inboxes
If you like, I set up inboxes on your own domain right away — so your website and email go together.
Marketing
SEO support or Google Ads aren't a must, but often the reason a website brings in enquiries. You pay the ad budget directly to Google.
The alternatives
Website builder, agency or freelancer?
Website builder
Wix, Jimdo and the like are cheap to start with. In return you build it yourself, pay monthly fees for good and hit limits on design, speed and SEO sooner.
A good fit if you need a very simple site and like doing things yourself.
Agency
Many specialists, project managers and review rounds. That brings capacity for large projects — and costs that don't go directly into your website.
A good fit if your project is large and many people need to be coordinated.
A freelancer like me
One fixed contact who plans, designs and develops. No agency machinery, no hand-offs to changing project managers — you pay for the work on your website.
A good fit if you want a professional website with personal support.
In the initial call I'll tell you honestly which route is right for your project — even if it isn't mine.
Saving tips
Save money without cutting the wrong corners.
- 01
Start lean
Go live with the most important pages and expand later. A good website grows with your business — it doesn't have to do everything on day one.
- 02
Prepare your content
Copy, photos and references you bring yourself save time and effort. I take care of the polish for Google and readability.
- 03
Focus on enquiries
Invest in what makes customers call or write: clear service pages, references, a simple form — not gimmicks.
- 04
Think about running costs
A fast, low-maintenance website costs less to run than a system with lots of plugins that constantly needs updates.
- 05
Compare quotes by what's included
The lowest total isn't automatically the cheapest quote. What matters is what's included — and what gets added later.
Questions to ask every provider
Whether you ask me or someone else — these questions make quotes comparable:
- Is it a fixed price or billed by effort?
- Which running costs come after launch?
- Do I own the website and the source code?
- Can I edit the content myself?
- Are privacy policy, legal notice and cookie banner included?
- How fast does the website load on a phone?
- Who is my contact — also after go-live?
Process
Four steps to your fixed price.
- 01

30 minutes, free — by phone, video or on site.
- 02
Fixed-price quote
Within 48 hours: a clear price, a clear schedule and all running costs.
- 03
Build with preview link
You see every stage in your browser and give feedback whenever it suits you.
- 04
Go-live
You only pay once everything is right. The website and source code belong to you.
FAQ
Common questions about costs.
How much does a website cost with you?+
That depends on what your website needs to do. After a free initial call you get a fixed-price quote within 48 hours that lists all services and running costs.
Why don't you list prices on your website?+
Because packages rarely fit. A fair price only emerges once it's clear which pages, features and content you need. A 30-minute call is usually enough for that.
Is the quote binding?+
Yes, you get a fixed price. If you'd like additional features along the way, we discuss what that means beforehand — there are no surprises on the invoice.
When do I pay?+
Only once your website is live and everything is right. After that, the website and source code belong to you.
Which running costs come after launch?+
Domain and hosting apply to every website. Maintenance, updates and small changes can be handled by me through an optional maintenance contract. What makes sense for you is already in the quote.
Isn't a website builder cheaper?+
At first, yes. In return you invest your own time, pay fees for good and hit limits on design, speed and SEO sooner. For a very simple site a builder can still be enough — and I'll tell you so.
How long until my website is ready?+
A landing page is usually live within two weeks, a typical business website within two to four weeks. How fast it goes depends mainly on when copy and images are ready.
Does the initial call cost anything?+
No. The initial call takes about 30 minutes and is free and non-binding — by phone, video or on site.
What will your website cost? Let's find out.
A 30-minute call, free and non-binding. Afterwards you get your fixed price in writing — within 48 hours.
