About me
Hi, I'm Jörg. IT, web & SEO since 1998.
From Emlichheim, Grafschaft Bentheim, Germany — serving clients nationwide. Over 25 years of practice in IT, web development and SEO, 20+ of those in senior e-commerce roles. IHK-certified trainer (Germany) for e-commerce professionals. Specialties: modern web stacks and technical SEO for solo entrepreneurs, associations and mid-market.
I started in 1998 — still with table layouts, GIF buttons and a first web server under my desk. Over the years CMS, SEO and Google Ads were added, later modern web stacks. Today I prefer working with the fastest tools the market offers — and pick what really fits each project.
For over 20 years I've been in senior, executive roles in e-commerce and web — from building online shops to performance marketing and website strategy for mid-sized companies. That day-to-day experience as an e-commerce lead flows directly into every project at Web & Search — the name I have been running client projects under since 2011. You don't get agency theory, but solutions that have to work in a real business environment.
My focus today is on high-performance websites with a modern stack, technical SEO and honest Google Ads campaigns. No agency baggage, no unnecessary tools — just clean work that pays off. That's exactly why I've been with most of my clients for years: because I know their industry, their goals and their stumbling blocks.
Since 2021 I'm also an IHK-certified trainer (Germany) for e-commerce professionals — passing my practice officially to the next generation. Keeps me at the pulse of what really works in e-commerce.
I live in Grafschaft Bentheim, like good films, bad puns and anything that helps make the world a little more efficient. If you have an existing site that underperforms — or need a new presence that actually delivers — drop me a line. First call is free, no strings, and honest.
Journey
Over 25 years at home on the web.
From table layouts and modem connections to performance websites and AI — the key milestones.
- 1998First steps
Started with table layouts, GIF buttons and a first web server under the desk. First HTML pages for clubs and small businesses.
- 2003Discovered SEO
As Google slowly got serious, the first optimizations came along — meta tags, clean content, backlinks. The start of a love for data and search results.
- 2006E-commerce responsibility
First senior role in e-commerce — building online shops, introducing conversion tracking, scaling performance marketing. Still my day job, where I have to deliver measurable results every day.
- 2010Own projects in parallel
First steady clients in Grafschaft Bentheim — clubs, trades, freelancers. Main stack at the time: WordPress with a custom theme. The day-to-day e-commerce experience flows straight into every client project.
- 2011Web & Search is born
The side projects get a name: since 2011, everything I build and maintain for clients runs under Web & Search — web design, SEO and later Google Ads from a single source.
- 2021IHK trainer
Passed the IHK examination as a trainer for e-commerce professionals (Germany). Since then I officially pass my practice to the next generation — and stay at the pulse of what really works.
- 2024Stack switch
Performance, security and maintainability force a rethink. Step by step switch to a modern stack — WordPress only when the client explicitly wants it.
How I work
Four principles. No excuses.
Direct line
You talk to me, not to three account managers. Replies within 24 hours, often in minutes — also on WhatsApp.
Honest reporting
If something isn't working, I say so. I don't sell you measures that don't help — even if it means less short-term revenue for me.
Long-term partnerships
I've been with most of my clients for years. Trust grows with every delivered project — and that's worth more to me than a quick win.
Learn today, deliver tomorrow
New frameworks, new SEO updates, new best practices — I learn every day so you get what works today, not what was modern three years ago.
Honest and clear
What you get — and what you don't.
So you know right away whether we fit.

Common questions
What clients often ask before the first call.
Why work with you and not with an agency?+
At an agency you often talk to an account manager who then passes your wishes two floors over to the designer and developer — Chinese-whispers included. With me there is exactly one point of contact: me. That's not a marketing slogan, that's operational reality.
What if you're sick or on holiday?+
Planned breaks I announce in time. For critical emergencies (site offline) I have on-call agreements — and a backup network of two colleagues who can step in at short notice.
Am I too small a client for you?+
No. I work with freelancers, small clubs and mid-sized businesses — but also with larger B2B companies. The most important yardstick: does it fit personally, and do we both believe in the project.
What's the first step?+
30 minutes free first call — Zoom or phone. You talk, I listen, ask targeted questions. By the end you know what's feasible and what it costs. No sales pitch, no pressure.
Do you also do "SEO only" without a website rebuild?+
Yes, gladly. If your site is technically sound, I optimize it — without trying to push a rebuild. Audit free, then concrete measures with a roadmap.
Still have questions?
Drop me a line or call — I usually reply within 24 hours.
Let's talk about your project.
